Barça Ready for First Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday

Barça revealed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league 30 months following their departure for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees can be present as per the current authorization. After final construction, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. The club said finished work included a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou in early November. The club said approval is being pursued by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side on 9 December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
