Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the global fight fans shared its support for the champion in the following the heartbreaking incident.
