Expedition 33 Triumphs at the 2025's Golden Joystick Ceremony
The 43rd annual Golden Joystick Awards were hosted recently, and in a stunning display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the top winner. This breakout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the coveted Top Game award, along with prizes for Outstanding Narrative and Excellence in Visuals.
Adding to the studio's success, the skilled cast also garnered individual awards. Jennifer English won Top Lead Actor for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Supporting Performance Award for his role as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Studio of the Year. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its creative team won 7 awards throughout the show.
Other major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which won Outstanding Audio and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Premier PC Title. Notably, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the public, with only 4 awards—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamer Selection—judged by reviewers.
