Jet Transporting Pete Hegseth Forced to Land in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
An aircraft ferrying the US defense secretary was required to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an announcement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The jet landed in accordance with standard procedures and everyone onboard, including Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson said in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a brief trip to Brussels during the flight.
This incident isn't the first occasion that a US military aircraft transporting a top government figure has encountered equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet transporting Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to head back to the US capital after experiencing a technical issue.
