Nearly 90 Flights Connected to Jeffrey Epstein Reportedly Arrived at or Departed from British Airports
An investigation has identified that nearly 90 flights connected to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein allegedly touched down at and left British airports, with some allegedly carrying women from the UK who allege they were exploited by the convicted sex offender.
Flight Logs Uncover Trail of Travel
The travel manifests were part of thousands of court documents and papers made public by the estate of Jeffrey Epstein that have been disclosed over the past year. The review found 87 aircraft movements linked to Epstein – featuring many that were previously unknown – landing or taking off from UK airports between the start of the 1990s and 2018.
Passenger Details and After Guilty Verdict Flights
Unnamed women were listed among the travelers flying to and from the UK. Significantly, 15 of these British airport journeys happened after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for procuring prostitution from a underage person.
“This is ‘appalling’ that there had never been a ‘thorough probe in the UK’ into his operations in the country,” said US lawyers acting for numerous Epstein victims.
British Victims and Legal Proceedings
A statement from one of the British victims aided the conviction of Epstein’s accomplice socialite Ghislaine Maxwell of sex trafficking of minors in the US in 2021. However, that individual has never been contacted by British law enforcement, according to her attorney based in Florida.
In a response, the London's Metropolitan Police indicated they had “not received any new evidence that would support restarting the probe.” They added, “If new and relevant information be brought to our attention, encompassing any arising from the release of material in the US, we will assess it.”
Ongoing Document Release and Legal Rulings
Proposed legislation to disclose every document held by the American government in relation to Epstein passed the US Congress last month. The Department of Justice has until 19 December to follow through. Hundreds of thousands of papers are projected to be released.
Separately, a federal judge ordered last week that the DOJ could disclose investigative materials from a trafficking prosecution against Maxwell, Epstein’s close friend, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence over the allegations.
